The Role

The Roofing Superintendent will be primarily responsible for the day-to-day support of the roofing crews and serve as a foreman on Solar roof installation projects. The ideal candidate has significant experience in general roofing construction and can demonstrate a track record of high quality, efficient and safe installations. This person must be a charismatic motivator and an effective communicator. They must also be self-motivated and driven to manage their time while having a remote reporting structure.


• Lead the proper installation of roofing systems in accordance with the installation manual and manufacturer specifications

• Manage crew schedule, production timelines and material to safely and efficiently complete assigned projects

• Effectively lead a crew of roofers with varying levels of experience

• Ensure job site safety and quality is maintained according to company policy and procedures

• Document project progress and activities

• Maintain a professional relationship with customers and properly communicate project activities from start to completion

• Coordinate and manage subcontractor scope of work and completion within project timeline

• Maintain project site in a neat and orderly fashion


• Minimum five (5) years' roofing field management experience

• Must have demonstrated competency as a roofer, preferably tile, with leadership experience

• Proven management and supervisory skills

• Comfortable in a fast paced field environment

• Proficiency in installing roofs on all types of buildings with the ability to craft sound solutions to unforeseen field conditions

• Must have a desire to continue learning and staying up to speed on all Tesla processes

• Must be organized and be able to meet aggressive timelines

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required

• Excellent customer service skills required

• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, lift 40 pounds, and be able to work on your feet for long periods of time

• Ability to work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, below freezing, crawl spaces, heights, etc.

• Experience with photovoltaic installations, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC desirable

• Comfortable working with spreadsheets, word processing, and cloud based applications

• High school diploma or GED required

• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements
