Sr/Staff Business Analyst, Business Process Transformation

The Business Process Transformation team focuses on applying a programmatic approach to constantly improving how things get done in finance and across Tesla. A good fit in this role will require someone who can quickly jump into new areas and become an effective expert in whatever is necessary for the success of the organization. The role is expected to simultaneously handle multiple projects of department-level scale and global reach by working with multiple business units within Tesla. The role is also expected to serve as a link to bridge any gaps in end to end business processes both technical and operational. Upon completion of an initiative, other teams should be able to look to this role as the expert on an improved process. The role's primary initial focus is to revolutionize Tesla's quote-to-cash program through end-to-end, touchless automation across all products and markets.


  • Create or map existing business processes, end to end
  • Identify process gaps and areas for optimization and automation
  • Develop financial and strategic business cases for process transformation
  • Gather and define business requirements cross-functionally to formulate proposed solutions
  • Come up with key performance indicators to track process operational performance
  • Create and manage projects to execute proposed solutions
  • Adjust execution as necessary to adapt to any changes in the direction of the business
  • Work alongside engineering teams to ensure development aligns with business requirements
  • Work successfully in a fast paced, detail oriented and highly collaborative team environment
  • Acquire any on the job knowledge or training necessary to complete given responsibilities
  • Apply evolving technologies to ensure Tesla's business processes are always industry-defining
  • Support data-driven and data-secure decision making by developing a knowledgebase on the quote-to-cash automation program


  • Undergraduate degree in process engineering, operational management, business (emphasis in finance or operations), economics, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with track record of delivering results in financial services, strategic or technical consulting, as a technical business analyst, or as a technical project manager
  • Evidence of exceptional analytic and execution ability
  • Experience leading complex projects and developing business solutions from inception to deployment
  • Knowledge of financial and operational controls, finance and accounting processes
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Willingness to adapt different management and execution styles as befitting the business
  • Juggle many key initiatives with large scope at the same time
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Lead and motivate other individuals in a matrix environment
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, work independently, be a self-starter, and own decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment


  • Experience with Agile methodology for product development
  • Confidence working with engineering development teams
  • Experience with executive level interaction
  • Comfort with embracing engineering technologies and learning technical capabilities
  • Experience with process improvement toolkits (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.)
