Job Summary

Our team at Tesla is looking for a Senior Revenue Analyst I that will ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures and review contracts to ensure that revenue is recorded in compliance with GAAP. The Senior Revenue Analyst I will oversee the month-end revenue close and interface extensively with operations and with the external auditors as needed. The ideal candidate will be familiar with GAAP revenue recognition issues and the practical application of this literature to the field operations practices and procedures.

The role requires extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals coupled with the ability to prioritize and focus on the critical issues. The position requires someone who has experience operating in a public company environment with the associated reporting deadlines and SOX compliance and requires 'out of the box' thinking to scale business processes by making processes efficient and streamlined.

Responsibilities
  • Manage revenue recognition for US international entities, create policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting treatment, work closely with the billings, collections, legal, operations & other departments.
  • Review contracts, sales orders and purchase orders to assess proper revenue recognition accounting treatment.
  • Work with senior management and external auditors to ensure the company is compliant with the latest revenue recognition rules.
  • Other special ad hoc projects as needed.


Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition principles and ability to apply.
  • Strong written skills and experience writing technical memos.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail, problem solving, and follow through.
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley internal controls a plus.


Education
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance or accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • 3-5 years corporate accounting or public accounting experience
  • SEC experience desirable
