The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for overall service program initiatives. The manager will ensure execution and continued development of the organization, capabilities, processes, systems, and reporting to ensure excellent customer service support for Tesla products. Tesla is looking for an experienced leader that has a background leading large teams.

  • Manage large geographically diverse and provide them a link back to HQ.
  • Strong commitment to safety, enforcement of safety protocols, and the ability to maintain and grow safety culture.
  • Ensuring adherence to corporate processes, procedures, and values.
  • Lead and manage a best-in-class Field Service regional organization
  • Maintain sites and expansion within the region to achieve industry leading uptime targets in the most cost effective manner
  • Lead and manage large multi-region field service teams
  • Ensure high standard of quality and efficiency in team functions
  • Serve as escalation point for field team.
  • Challenge the "large company" policies to work better for field team; be an advocate for the field in the offices.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement best practices across all teams and geographies.
  • Budget oversight and financial management of all project pipeline.
  • Collaborate with internal team leaders across business functions to drive project execution (design, supply chain, logistics, legal, accounts payable, etc.)
  • Manage resource scheduling and allocation.
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate a variety of customer and supplier partner relationships across multiple projects.

  • BSc Degree in either Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics) or equivalent experience professional experience
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant work experience, 3 of these in a senior management role
  • Proven track record of highly effective team leadership
  • Exceptional communication abilities across all facets of an organization (senior leadership, peers, and teams)
  • Previous experience in establishing and scaling a highly successful service/operations & maintenance organizations
  • Works well under time pressure and makes decisions and recommendations with high amounts of embedded uncertainty.
  • Detail-oriented, humble and able to foster collaboration through teamwork.
  • Experience with fast-paced organizations
  • Ability to prioritize and communicate prioritization across departments
  • History of successfully managing large organizations of 50 or more employees, including project management teams and labor workforces.
  • Understanding of collective bargaining agreements and union negotiations.
  • Experience building and leading effective teams.
  • MBA or MS in Engineering is a plus
  • 25%+ travel expected
