Senior Contracts & Procurement Manager, Gigafactory

The Role

The Purchasing Manager, Gigafactory will develop and lead the procurement strategy for infrastructure strategic sourcing. This role is expected to develop strategic business relationships with external suppliers and internal business leaders as well as other internal key stakeholders, lead contract negotiations, drive cost savings initiatives and implement strategic sourcing best practices.


• Develop the Infrastructure Development organization.

• Personnel development and management.

• Develop strong stakeholder support and cooperation at assigned sites.

• Ensuring that spend is under management and contract compliance.

• Supporting business planning and savings within budgetary milestones.

• Establishing measurement tools/metrics to monitor progress

• Implementing strategic agreements to consolidate suppliers/spend.

• Lead the process of data collection and analyzes of spend data.

• Design, conduct and synthesize supplier, industry and market research for assigned commodities to develop sourcing strategy

• Provide analysis of existing requirements and pricing to ensure the most cost-effective options.

• Develop solid understanding of cost drivers and contracts.

• Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships; act as the lead point of contact for all commercial issues.

• Support Engineering to identify suppliers available for sourcing.

• Supervise the issuing of RFx for sourcing assigned commodities.

• Review, analyze and clarify quote packages from suppliers.

• Support/Lead a strategic sourcing approval process.

• Work on "Lean" initiatives and identify other sourcing efficiencies via benchmarking, VA/VE, competitive quotes and resourcing.

• At least seven (7) years' experience in Purchasing, preferably in the Infrastructure, Construction or Facilities space.

• Hi-tech, consumer goods or automotive industry experience.


• Experience in building high performing purchasing organizations.

• Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Advanced excel skills a must have.

• Master's degree or higher, engineering preferred.

• Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analyses, and Contract Negotiations a must.

• Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement.

• Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve.

• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders

• Organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.

• Fluency in English.

• APICS certification is a plus
