The purpose of this position is to provide technical inputs under the guidance of experienced engineering professionals to the work of the Development and Engineering & Construction teams for the Wind Resources activities across the business. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role is based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the undertaking of wind farm energy resource assessments;
• Assist to carry out wind farm environmental assessments;
• Contribute to Data Analysis and Quality Assurance;
• Assist to provide technical and project management inputs to the Engineering & Construction Department;
• Contribute to the wind farm site prospecting process;
• Assist with preparing technical reports and contribute to project business case reports;
• Assist with wind monitoring activities including downloading of monitoring station data, fault diagnosis and monitoring station condition monitoring;
• Assisting with the development of new and innovative technical methods and site assessment techniques;
• Assist with Wind Farm and Solar Farm Operational Services including turbine Power Performance Testing, turbine availability assessment, wind farm performance assessment and Performance Ratio calculation/procedure verification;
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the wind power industry in Australia from both a technical and broader market perspective;

• Be familiar with and act in accordance with Acciona's Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

Experience & Qualifications

• Relevant Degree in Engineering or Science.
• Advanced skills in the use of MS Excel and experience with other MS packages.
• Strong working knowledge of GIS and CAD software including ESRI, ArcGIS and AutoCAD (highly desirable).
• Work experience in a related environment (advantageous but not essential).
• Previous experience of wind farm analysis software including WAsP, WindFarmer and WindPro (highly desirable, but not essential).
• Be technically astute and capable of expertise-based problem solving.
• High attention to detail and commitment to produce high quality outputs.
• Make decisions based on accepted quality standards, policies and procedures.
• An effective team-worker who can work independently when required.
• High level verbal and written communication skills.
• Current Australian driver's license.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel interstate as required.
