Job description:

 

EDF EN Services UK (“EENS UK”) is a 49:51% JV between EDF Energy (“EDF E”) and EDF EN Services (“EENS”) (together the “Shareholders”).

EENS UK has the task of delivering safe renewable operations and maintenance (O&M) services to circa 550 MW across 28 wind farms in the UK.

 

The O&M Wind Turbine Performance Analyst / Engineer within the Engineering Team will be the primary source of Performance technical expertise across the EENS UK portfolio.

The job holder will be responsible for managing the creation and publication of all the ENS UK wind farm operational performance reporting obligations.

They should have specialist technical expertise on all performance aspects of renewable generation equipment, specifically wind turbines and associated auxiliary equipment to improve operational performance and availability.

The O&M Wind Turbine Performance Analyst / Engineer shall report directly to the Engineering Manager but work collaboratively and closely with all departments within EENS UK, the wider EDF Group and external consultants and contractors

 Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintain the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements.
  • Take care of personal health and safety and that of other persons and environmental protection.
  • Strick compliance of Company Code of Ethics.
  • Verification of UK wind farm performance data from Pi and SCADA with a subsequent impact on operational compliance.
  • Analysis and submission of performance data for ENS UK scorecard.
  • Deliver monthly operational performance reports to meet the requirements of ENS UK.
  • Monitor, review and present wind farm performance data to identify key technical risks (availability, downtime and fault analysis) to support decision making within the business.
  • Interface with key stakeholder to provide technical assistance related to performance issues and support associated mitigation actions.
  • Support the resolution of performance issues relating to discrepancies between Pi and SCADA system.
  • Review and analyse operational performance data to identify trends to improve performance.
  • Develop analytical tools and systems to allow for the effective analysis and reporting of operational site performance.
  • Identify and implement new performance assessment tools and systems to ensure optimal quality and validity of data analysis.
  • Provide training on the Pi system to wider team.
  • Develop and implement engineering policy, procedures and work instructions.
  • Carry out technical cost / benefit analysis and prepare business cases for presentation to management.
  • Share lessons learned with the service and maintenance teams and EDF EN Services.
  • Prepared to travel within UK and overseas when required. 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Qualification in engineering, scientific, physics and/or mathematical studies (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a performance engineer / analyst with various wind turbine technologies through a combination of wind farm operational and maintenance activities and academic qualifications.
  • Renewable operations and maintenance experience with technical knowledge of wind turbine SCADA and control systems.
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI System is essential.
  • Experience with databases, MSSQL, ORACLE. Programming skills (Visual C++, .Net).
  • Experience with data visualisation software such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Qualification in the following is not essential but desirable:
  • GWO working at height;
  • NEBOSH or equivalent;
  • BINDT vibration analysis or equivalent
