Cameron’s Drilling Systems

Our Drilling segment is one of the leading global suppliers of integrated drilling systems for onshore and offshore applications. We are inventing the products and solutions for our customers that include shipyards, drilling contractors, exploration and production companies and rental tool companies. Equipment we design and manufacture include blow-out preventers (BOPs), control systems, drilling risers and valves, manifolds and other rig products, parts and services. Because of an increased focus on safety and tighter regulation, Drilling has seen an increase in customers wanting to re- certify BOP stacks or to replace aging equipment.

Job Summary

Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Work with procurement to reduce overhead costs and improve material availability. Troubleshoot processes and solve problems with molds, dies, presses, and raw material to ensure continuous production. Troubleshoot complex tooling, equipment, and process problems and to develop manufacturing methods leading to improved safety, quality, and delivery at reduced costs.

Responsible for preparing and maintaining mold drawings and tooling Bills of Materials. Collaborate with Engineering, Production and R&D to improve and standardize existing and future mold designs. Improvements to include
  • Mold technology through steels,coatings, surface treatments, heat treatments;
  • Mold-cleaning methods;
  • Flash-less and waste-less designs; Mold tooling.

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Previous experience designing or modifying molds for the rubber industry.
  • Requires the ability to solve complex problems with ambiguous and limited data and knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years in the rubber industry preferably in manufacturing processes such as mixing, extruding, and molding. Knowledge of thermal expansion, hot and cold transfer, rubber shrinkage and compression.
  • AutoCAD, Inventor 3D Modeling, and SAP experience preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office.
