Summary:

My client are an owner, developer and operator of renewable projects, within the Solar and Wind sector. They are looking for someone with Solar PV experience, ideally Wind but also there would be a strong preference if this person also understood battery storage. 

They are looking for a Development Engineer to work within their business on a permanent basis and join the renewables team. 


They are a growing organisation that are looking to add new members to the renewables development team, these people would be given good training and chances to develop within the business during their career there. 

The Role:
  • Working with the business development team, to make sure the engineering and construction factors are represented in the development stages
  • Developing performance models
  • Estimation of EPC costs and owners project management costs
  • Contract negotiation for EPC phase
  • Contractor selection 
  • Reviewing project models, EPC, PPA and advising on technical suitability 
  • Supplier due diligence 
  • Site visits overseas, most projects are within Africa 
  • Feasibility of project and site 
  • Site visits during construction 
  • Evironmental and social feasibility 
  • Financial modeling and commerical understanding of the project
  • Greenfield project development

 
The Individual:


  • 2-5 years of experience in project development of renewable energy projects
  • Needs Greenfield project development experinece in ideally solar, wind and battery storage 
  • Origination, development and completion experience of these projects
  • Must be open to travel, the role would mean that someone would travel to projects, potentially for weeks at a time, the travel would mostly be in Africa 
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
  • Knowledge of critical aspects of major projects, extensive knowledge of EPC conracts
