Primary Responsiblilites
  • Design and write control systems software for equipment.
  • Provide assistance in the creation, development and maintenance of Commissioning and Software documentation.
  • Provide support for the implementation, execution, start-up, field support and troubleshooting of NOV Control systems and tools.
  • Develop and de-bug Control System Software and Operator control interfaces prior to project or product release.
  • Train customers, and Field Service Technicians, on scope of equipment operation, troubleshooting and problem diagnostics.
  • Provide support for commissioning operations as required.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot associated hardware.
  • Provide as required valid, clear and concise reporting on all verification and testing of software and associated systems during development and in the field.
  • Configure control systems hardware.
  • Design and configure network systems.
  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities
  • Ability to work with existing software and modify under Engineering constraints.
  • PLC Programming Skills with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable. Knowledge of Siemens Programming environment is preferred.
  • SCADA HMI Programming Skills to generate HMI screens for complex machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting. Knowledge of Wonderware Intouch, Proficy iFix and Siemens FactoryLink is preferred.
  • Ability to read/understand electrical schematics, wiring and logic diagrams.
  • Provide cost estimates, schedules and Controls Project Documentation as part of a Project Team or as a Project Manager
  • Interface and communicate with customers (both internal and external), vendors, I&C personnel and project engineers.
  • Use Company and Group processes to maintain a structure within projects and as a whole

Job Requirements
  • Ability to obtain certifications and compliance to allow travel to rig and shipyards, both domestic, overseas, land based and offshore
  • Available as needed for project support


Education & Experience Qualifications
  • Engineering degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience or equivalent work experience
