As HSE Coordinator you will be required to support the HSE Engineer in maintaining and enhancing the HSE management system in line with legal and other requirements including ISE HSE Operational Requirements. Specifically, you will work closely alongside operational Cell Leaders, supporting and facilitating their activities to ensure they optimise personal and team HSE performance through; achievement of specific goals and targets, ensuring documentation, records, training and risk assessments remain relevant, current and are evolved wherever necessary to reflect changes in business processes and activities. You will also assist both the HSE Engineer and Cell Leaders to fulfil statutory and other communication and consultation obligations to staff, contractors, visitors and others including; continuous improvement data, HSE Alert information, Inductions, and issue and supervision of Permit to Work activities. Maintain fire and other monitoring records, assist in incident recording, reporting and investigation, maintain and publish HSE statistics, reports and metrics to both internal and external stakeholders as required. You will be keen to work collaboratively to see the business not just comply but excel in HSE management, and to use your keen eye for detail to ensure processes are maintained appropriately.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the HSE Engineer to maintain, develop and enhance the site's HSE management system.
• Collate HSE data and information and maintain data management and dissemination processes on site.
• Assist Cell Leaders in maintaining local HSE objectives, targets, training and competency records.
• Support Cell Leaders in maintaining suitable and sufficient risk assessments and controls and to ensure HSE obligations are understood, communicated and met.
• Facilitate all other risk assessment and monitoring activities (COSHH, Noise, Vibration, Fire, etc).
• Assist in controlling activities of contractors / visitors on site, particularly following analysis and assessment of any RAMS and competence information.
• Authorise permits to work and other relevant risk control processes as required.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of fire and emergency procedures and coordinate monitoring activities.
• Assist the HSE Engineer in initiatives to improve HSE culture and to be willing to lead such initiatives
• Assist and/or lead accident / incident investigations and associated follow-up as required.
• Coordinate Occupational Health surveillance where necessary.
• Maintain registers of legal and other requirements and assist in evolving the HSE MS to address any highlighted changes.
• Monitor that statutory inspections / thorough examinations are undertaken within the correct timescales and all recommendations and actions are addressed in a timely manner.
• Undertake internal HSE audits and inspections.
• Deputise in the absence of the HSE Engineer including liaising with enforcement authorities such as the Health and Safety Executive, Local authority, SEPA and Scottish Water as required.
• All other reasonable duties as assigned as and when business requirements dictate.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of NEBOSH General Certificate

• IOSH and IEMA membership or appropriate professional HSE management qualifications

• Full, current driving licence

Experience:

• Health and Safety administrator / coordinator role within an engineering or manufacturing sector.

• Experience of undertaking and coordinating risk assessments and associated actions

• Incident investigation and root cause analysis.

• Auditing experience.

Skills, training or special knowledge

• Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)

• Working knowledge of HSE legislation.

• Good understanding of management systems such as ISO9001, 14001 and/or OHSAS 18001
