The QA Engineer role, reporting to the Houston Lifting and Handling QA Manager, will be focused on daily activities in support of the Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001:2015 certification; ensuring the quality of products and services within the Houston Lifting and Handling group. In addition, ensuring product quality through the inspection of parts and QA documents while monitoring supplier performance through the use of current as well as newly-developed processes will be a primary responsibility of the role.

Job responsibilities and activities include:

Assist in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Assure the quality of both products and services within the Lifting and Handling group.

Assist in the implementation and administration of Quality policies and procedures

Stay informed of the latest Body of Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.

Ensure product quality and specifications are met through internal and external processes including supplier contact as required.

Coordinate resolution of product quality issues with Operations, Project Management, Aftermarket Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering.

Effectively use existing tools in place (Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's), Corrective Action Reports (CAR's), and Engineering Change Requests (ECR's)) to communicate quality issues and provide data for analysis, follow-up, and improvement.

Keep an open eye for process improvement opportunities while engaging with employees and existing processes.

Inspect parts for compliance at 3 rd party warehouse, suppliers, and in the field as necessary.

Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.

Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline

Minimum 5 years' experience in quality assurance, inspection, or quality control

Experience in metal fabrication, welding, and/or machining operations

Certification as an ASQ Certified Quality Technician or Certified Mechanical Inspector desirable

NDE, NACE, & CWI certifications/qualifications desirable

Oracle ERP experience necessary, especially with the Quality Manager module

Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel...) experience required
