Job Description:

Direct/Indirect Buyer
\n Position Overview
\n For assigned complex direct and indirect commodities performs the functions of international market analysis, internal Siemens demand analysis, global demand pooling, supplier selection and qualification, negotiation of price, terms and conditions, to maximize contribution to operating profit and business objectives.
\n Completes supplier analysis in order to acquire the best suppliers and to guarantee an optimum supply chain. Assists in the coordination of the annual suppliers evaluation process and executes formal supplier development plans.
\n Maintains regular contact with internal/external interface partners to recognize developments and exert influence accordingly.
\n Completes complex reports of defined information and figures to make results transparent and controls purchasing activities on a result-oriented basis. Participates in the development of communication and deployment of procurement strategies.
\n 1) Elaborates sourcing strategies for Chinese supply base with local and global commodity team
\n 2) Develops strategic sourcing concepts and cost reduction roadmaps by direct and indirect commodities and suppliers
\n 3) Drives implementation of sourcing strategies and concepts by operational Procurement staff
\n 4) Conducts supplier risk, performance and strategic evaluations including negotiation, implementation and tracking of Target Agreements and corrective action measures
\n 5) Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Production, Quality, Logistics and SQM
\n 6) Supplier qualification and development and external to ensure supplier readiness
\n 7) Responsible for assuring material supply security capacity-wise and contractually, to secure operational business.
\n 8) Providing formal Supplier Management of assigned supply base as well as representation in related Siemens commodity circles
\n 9) BOM Costing Analysis and Updating on a periodic basis
\n 10) CNI (Cost Reduction) Tracking for team via such tools as GLORIS, PUMA and SCM Core
\n 11) PVO Analysis
\n 12) Non Conformance Cost (NCC Recovery and Tracking)
\n 13) Management of department metrics such as SDR, PO Confirmations and other key indicators
\n 14) Vendor Set-ups for new suppliers and changes
\n 15) Material Master Maintenance
\n 16) SharePoint Administration including, Strategic and Operational Procurement, Outbound Shipments, Trade Orders, Subcontract Receiving, Logistics, Warehouse Pick Requests, PO Discrepancy Log & Invoice Discrepancy Log
\n 17) Other duties include administration of Supplier letters, ZAV Requests, etc.
\n 18) Be flexible to meet and work in supplier time zones for on-line meetings, etc. (China, India, etc).
\n Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
\n 1) Chinese (Mandarin) verbal and written fluency
\n 2) Experience in supplier selection, qualification and development
\n 3) Commercial Negotiation Skills
\n 4) Ability to analyze material cost breakdowns and assess their accuracy based on market values.'
\n 5) Total Cost of Ownership calculation
\n 6) Project management experience
\n 7) Complex problem resolution and analytical thinking skills
\n 8) Collaboration with commodity and/or cross-functional teams
\n 9) Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

\n Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
\n 1) Tactical buying experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred in the gearbox or wind energy industry
\n 2) Proficient writing and oral communication skills in a second language (German, Chinese, Spanish)
\n 3) Additional technical education in mechanical or electrical engineering
\n 4) Experience with Buy America, Buy American and ITAR requirements
\n 5) Familiar with Value Stream Mapping and Continuous Improvement Process concept
\n Education

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
