Job description:

EDF EN Services UK (“EENS UK”) is a 50/50 JV between EDF Energy (“EDF E”) and EDF EN Services (“EENS”) (together the “ Shareholders”).  EENS UK has the task of deliver safe renewable operations and maintenance (O&M) services in the UK.  EENS UK is responsible for the operation and maintenance of circa 450MW in 26 wind farms.

Reporting to your regional Operational and Maintainence Area Manager, you will be expected to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to Nordex N series and Vestas V47 and V52 wind turbine projects in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines. 

Knowledge of other wind technologies will be a plus. 

Your daily activities will include, and you will be familiar with:

  • Maintaining the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements including
  • the WTSR.
  • Scheduled service in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Reporting and planning daily maintenance activity.
  • Coordinating local spare part and consumable stock.
  • Faultfinding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components.
  • Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime.
  • Supervising specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchange.
  • Maintaining the highest levels of safety to comply with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR.
  • Provide safety induction to contractors and visitors.
  • Providing out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown.
  • Ensuring the highest level of turbine availability.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • V52 wind turbine projects in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Vestas
  • MW machines and/or Nordex N series will be a plus
  • Qualification in electrical and/or mechanical disciplines to NVQ3 level (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience)
  • High level of physical fitness and good health
  • Previous accreditation as AT/AE under WTSR
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong safety minded person.
  • Excellent analytical thinking
  • Strong sense of organisation and planning
  • Enjoy working in the field
  • Ability to communicate and pass on technical knowledge
