The opportunity is a staff based position from our NW Indiana/Chicagoland Office. The successful candidate will support operations with sound technical advice and oversight for the safe, quality, and cost effective execution of work. Work environment is typically lump sum, self-perform, competitive bid projects.

Will include but not limited to the following

• Ensure project welding operations are run per the Fluor Corporate Welding Program and project needs (specifications)
• Provide technical support of Welding and NDE operations
• Administer/Execute the Fluor ASME Code Stamp Program
• Ensure project quality operations are run per the Fluor Corporate Quality Program and project needs
• Provide inspection services and manage outsourced NDE vendors
• Track and report NDE trends
• Promote client relations to acquire and new and additional work opportunities
• Liaison with Corporate Welding & NDE Services and Quality Groups
• Liaison and interface with Fluor Management
• Interface with Craft Supervision & Craft Service
• Assess and manage staffing
• Assist in the resolution of Welding and NDE issues
• Specify and maintain standard welding equipment
• Participate in the evaluation of new welding process and technology
• Review of project and supplier welding, brazing, heat treatment, NDE, and fabrication procedures for code compliance and weldability/fabricability

Basic Job Requirements:
• 10 years of field welding construction experience
• American Welding Society SCWI or CWI with 7 years of experience
• Functional knowledge of ASME BPVC, B31.1, B31.3, and relevant API codes.
• Working knowledge of the SMAW,GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and Orbital welding processes
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors and visitors
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/provincial and federal/national consensus codes and standards, statutes and guidelines
• Will require some travel to work sites, supplier facilities, etc.
• Must be available and agreeable to shift work, overtime, and travel.
• Computer Literate

Preferred Qualifications:
Local hire is highly preferred
