As Assembly Technician [contractor], you will utilise your existing assembly skills and knowledge to contribute to the assembly of sub-surface sensor based systems including measurement whilst drilling, survey and application specific borehole measurement and actuation systems. Acting under the guidance of the Production Manager your expertise in interpreting manufacturing documentation including drawings, bill of materials and workmanship standards will be key to your success in this role. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure good record keeping of faults and issues.
• Work towards achieving company-agreed goals
• Build various stages of assemblies from kit of parts to given procedures in line with training criteria.
• Comply with procedures applicable to product assembly within training criteria and compliance to Workmanship Standard.
• Knowledge of, and the ability to solder to J-STD-001 & inspect to IPC610
• Able to understand and work to electrical wiring and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Knowledge of a range of hand tools and their application
• Comply with anti-static policies of the company
• Understand and implement the Company's policies on Quality and Safety
• Be aware of and comply with any special requirements of the product line
• Maintain consistency of quality workmanship Be aware of the Engineering change (ECR/ECN), concession and defect reporting systems.
• Any other production duties as deemed necessary.

Essential

• Higher Education level / variable depending upon experience

Desirable

• HNC mechanical / manufacturing engineering / City & Guilds / assembly and wiring qualifications

Experience:

Essential

• Experience in a similar position & similar electro-mechanical tools / products

Have completed an assembly of one Product Line to an excellent standard of competency

Skills, training or special knowledge

Essential

• Able to read and understand manufacturing documentation
• Working knowledge of component soldering

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft windows and Microsoft applications
