We have worked on every UK nuclear licensed site and have continuously supported the UK's Naval Nuclear Propulsion Programme since 1984 where we have grown to be the pre-eminent provider of technical services to the MoD and related support clients on nuclear infrastructure.

The Project Manager position is being requested to support works undertaken across a range of projects being delivered by Investment Delivery (ID) at Sizewell B nuclear power station. The station has a diverse projects portfolio covering mechanical, civil, electrical and C&I works. The projects encompass the full spectrum of the Investment Delivery Process from Concept, through Design, to Implementation and Commissioning.

Project:

Sizewell B, has 4 x 8.8 MW Essential Diesel Generators (RDG's) that require the generator rotors to be exchanged on a rolling programme. One has been completed and one is in progress with a further two to complete in 2018 & 2019. Material condition works are also required to the EDG roof plant.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Directing & leading all the activities associated with the full lifecycle of the project within the programme.
  • Successful project delivery from concept design to handover & closure stages in accordance with safety, cost, scope, quality & time in line with the overall project schedule, meeting all business & technical requirements.
  • Develop & implement the project execution plan for the delivery of the project.
  • Define the work scope to be delivered & the interfaces to the other elements of the programme.
  • Track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget & provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
  • Identify risks & facilitate the resolution of all risks raised.
  • Anticipate, manage, & resolve issue.
  • Fulfil all the contract contractual requirements.
  • Establish & maintain effective working relationships with all project team members, stakeholders & advisory services.

Note4: Expected to attend site during normal working hours Monday to Friday.
Essential:
  • Degree or chartered status, engineering Mechanical/Electrical, with relevant experience.
  • Experience of working on EDF sites and/or knowledge of equivalent environments/processes.
  • Heavy Mechanical/Electrical background with knowledge and experience of EDF Nuclear site requirements, processes and procedures. i.e. H&S, Quality, plus work management/WOC's and PM ID requirements.
  • Requirement to work as part of a combined and integrated ID and station team with a flexible and delivery focussed approach.
  • Experience of managing contracts and or plant testing/commissioning would be beneficial.
  • Excellent planning, organisation & communication skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams & stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including capability for budget analysis & forecasting.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness, understands the importance of change and risk management.
  • Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.
  • Ability to cope well under pressure & work within tight timeframes.
  • Undertake individual working to a high level of attention to detail.
  • Clear decision making ability with the acumen to judge complex situations & assess when to escalate issues.
  • Proficient user of MS Office.
  • CTC or SC level security clearance (must be willing to go through clearance process if no clearance held at time of application, be capable of obtaining a full Security Clearance).


Desirable:
  • APMP or equivalent project management qualification & relevant experience.
  • Nuclear experience, working within a regulated, licenced environment.
  • Understanding the needs of Quality & how it is assured & controlled.
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Good team player, self-motivated & able to work on own initiative.
