We are currently working with a leading renewable energy client who are looking for a Commissioning Supervisor to support an offshore wind farm project in the UK.

The Commissioning Supervisor will be responsible for the offshore Substation and will be a direct report to the Offshore Substation Commissioning Engineer and deputise when necessary.  This is a key delivery role in driving the Offshore Substation Fabrication Yard and Offshore Hook up commissioning works in a challenging project environment.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Work alongside the Offshore Substation Commissioning Engineer and key supplier representatives to witness the commissioning activities as Clients Engineer, driving the work scope forwards on site to meet the project programme.
  • Client witness and sign off for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Commissioning of all Systems (HV/LV/Platform Ancillary Systems) in the Fabrication Yard and Offshore.
  • Provide technical support for Project Senior Authorised Person/Safety Controller.
  • Assist Offshore Substation Commissioning Engineer with Investigations and reports on HV Network system events and Platform System Issues during the commissioning phase.
  • Deputise for the Offshore Substation Commissioning Engineer when required.
  • Feed into Electrical Package Quality Documentation (i.e. Snag Lists).
  • Ensure Asset Integrity of the Offshore Substation and the HV Network during the Commissioning phase of the Offshore Wind Farm.
  • Accurate reporting and record keeping on Progress and Issues.
  • Liaise with Engineering and Quality Departments.
  • Interface with Export/Array Cable and Onshore Substation Commissioning activities.
  • Interface with the client's Operations and Maintenance Team.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Proven Electrical Commissioning Supervisor/Technician in a HV substation/Cable/Wind Farm Environment.
  • Offshore Wind Farm experience.
  • Self-starting with planning/coordination and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven track record in a client role on a Wind Farm.
  • Understanding of HV Safety Rules.
  • Electrical Engineering HNC/ONC.
  • All tickets required to work offshore-GWO Approved including Chester Step Test.
