Wind Turbine Technician - Barrow in Furness Would you like to take up the challenge and be part of a team with the highest regard for safety standards and performance excellence on our offshore wind farms in Barrow-in-Furness?

Join us and become Wind Turbine Technician in Wind Power Operations as part of our expanding team in Barrow. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our wind turbines and other offshore assets, positively contributing to our safety culture, and working with our engineering specialists to enhance our wind farm performance.

Wind Power Operations is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind farms, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.

You will be based at our facilities in Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.

Your key duties will be to
  • work in a team with the highest regard for safety and drive a positive safety culture with your actions
  • perform servicing, troubleshooting and repair of wind turbine electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components
  • perform maintenance on other offshore assets, for example foundation structures
  • contribute to planning and operational excellence.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you
  • are an experienced engineer or technician with a strong, formal electrical or mechanical engineering background
  • have completed a recognised apprenticeship with supporting qualifications
  • preferably have experience with offshore wind turbine technology
  • have a positive, proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks
  • preferably have an authorisation under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.

As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will enter into a training programme for approximately one year which will include travel both within the United Kingdom and internationally.
