Mid-level Water Resources Engineer - Virginia Beach, VA

The Challenge? Help provide and sustain clean water resources around the world. Our Water Resources Engineers assist in state and local storm water projects by providing a variety of project engineering, design and client services to municipal, federal, and private clients and stakeholders in the Mid-Atlantic Area and internationally.
Our Water Resources Engineers :
•    Work on a range of stormwater management, green infrastructure and water supply planning projects
•    Support clients through the life of a project from studies, models and planning, through design, regulatory compliance and permitting, construction, and monitoring.
•    Have strong knowledge of civil/site design to aid in completion of contract documents for stormwater projects.
•    Have a strong understanding of current federal, state and local MS4 and other stormwater regulations, design guidelines, and permit requirements to support project success.
•    Execute stormwater and low impact development and design projects, including landscaping, design, and community outreach
•    Assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects, including task management experience.
•    Lead projects/task orders and mentor junior staff on small to medium projects.
•    Conduct existing site and facility assessments and identification of stormwater retrofit opportunities.
•    Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies to support project permitting.
•    Work on proposals and contribute to client relationships and business development efforts.
•    Communicate and work directly with clients.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:•    4 years experience in water resources engineering or planning including one or more of the following: hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater master planning, water quality and watershed planning, green infrastructure planning, design, and construction.
•    MS4 or other stormwater permit compliance experience
•    Excellent written and communications skills
•    Familiarity with ArcGIS mapping tools.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:•    Experience as a field team lead.
•    PE or equivalent in Virginia
•    Familiarity with VSMP permits and Virginia stormwater regulations
•    Familiarity with Chesapeake Bay TMDL requirements, particularly for municipalities
