The WTG installation Client Representative on the project reports to the WTG Offshore installation site manager and supports the WTG installation Package Team in the safe and successful delivery of the offshore WTG installation works.  

The CR will have a shift period day to day responsibility for on-site monitoring and reporting of all aspects of the installation works whilst on the installation vessel or on at the Harbour Site during loading of components and for the communication of responsibilities and activities across shifts. 

The CR role is primarily vessel based but will occasionally be required to participate in meetings onshore at the harbour Sites. 

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Monitoring, escalation and (where required) reporting, of all Environmental, Health and Safety incidents and near misses.
  • Surveillance for and alerting of the WTG Package team to any and all real or perceived WTG installation risks.
  • Assistance with reviewing and preparing WTG installation related documentation (letters, reports etc.) relating to claims, variations, management of change etc.
  • Maintain and produce an internal to the Project, daily progress report (DPR) & receive and validate the Contractors daily report(s).
  • Where required, take a leading role with assessing design, method or equipment changes and advising the WTG Package Team.
  • Where required, assessing and auditing Contractor’s documentation – e.g. H&S Plan, QA plan, Environmental plan, as-built drawings and calculations etc.
  • Monitoring and recording forecast and actual weather conditions and Contractor weather decisions.
  • Monitoring and validating the Contractors compliance with documentation & with the contract.
  • Instructing the Contractor to stop the Works for immediate environment, health and safety or product safety reasons.
  • Coordination and communication with the package team; HSE, QA, and project management representatives attending on board the installation vessel.
  • Promptly identify and notify the Project management on any issue that may arise or have the potential to arise during the course of the works and provide assistance in resolving any issues.
  • Coordination and communication with various project stakeholders (including HSE, QA, Environment, Marine Warranty Surveyor and the Principal Contractor) and or other contractors to aide effective interface.
Essential:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the energy or offshore industry.
  • Good understanding of the technology of Wind Turbines utilised in the offshore wind industry.
  • Good contractual and technical understanding of WTG installation contracts and specifications.
Previous experience in:
  • Work procedure preparation and/or review.
  • Work sequence planning.              
  • Quality management.
  • Environmental management.
  • Risk Assessment and Management.                                  
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety in particular CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • Willingness to travel and willingness to work offshore (28 day cycle).
  • Willingness to transfer offshore either by CTV, ship to ship or by helicopter, if required.
  • In date offshore medical, Offshore survival and Tower climbing certificate.
  • Ability to be available, within reason, for events whether planned or unplanned.
  • Computer skills: MS office applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team.
