2nd Shift Automotive Lab Technician - Willing to Train

Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a lab, testing materials, and using Microsoft Excel several times per week. It's ideal if you have experience preparing heat-treated metal materials and conducting testing to analyze material structures, micro-hardness, and case depth using specialized metallurgical equipment. If that's not something you've done before, and know Microsft Excel, we can provide training. Our employees are well compensated and are eligible for health care ensure and paid time off.

Compensations is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Use Microsoft Excel to record material testing and results
  • Perform material testing on metals to analyze structure, hardness, case depth, and other criteria
  • Testing must follow all required specifications and be performed quickly to meet production deadlines
  • Review test results, compare them to the specifications, prepare reports and approve acceptable materials
  • Promptly communicate results to the met lab supervisor and plant management
  • Develop and maintain charts and reports for the sediment and metallurgical processes
  • Comply with all Global Manufacturing System systems and procedures
  • Ability to problem-solve during manufacturing processes
  • Safely and correctly operate lab equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance, and report any issues to management

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 2-year degree or completion of a program in metallurgy, material science is desired but not required
  • Testing experience conducting metallurgical testing, operating test equipment, and analyzing results is preferred but not re
  • Strong computer skills, ability to organize and prepare reports
  • Comply with all safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Shift: 2nd Shift (2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)
