Department Overview

The Energy Policy and Procurement (EPP) organizationmanages electric and gas procurement to ensure reliable supply (e.g. meet the gas and electric needs of our customers 24 hours a day), reduce customer costs and price risk, minimize shareholder risk, and support environmentally preferred resources. ElectricSettlements (ES) is a group within the EPP organization that is responsible for settling contracts with over 350 counter-parties. Contracts include physical energy (e.g., conventional generation, renewable, & Qualifying Facilities), gas, transmission, andfinancial (e.g., options and hedging) types. In addition to interfacing with external counter-parties, ES partners with a number of organizations internal to PG&E, including Energy Supply, Legal, Accounting, and Banking & Money Management.

Position Summary

The ES Settlements Analyst is responsible for the settling and reporting of Bilateral Renewable and Tolling energy contracts on a monthly basis. Settlement Analysts are alsoresponsible for developing settlement processes for any new contracts that are executed. In addition to contract related duties, Settlement Analysts are often involved in numerous cross-functional teams related to departmentgoals.


Minimum Qualifications:
*BA/BS in Business, Math, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or related quantitative discipline;
*Experience working with Power Purchase Agreements, specifically RPS and Tollingcontracts;
*Experience working with California ISO (CAISO) market systems (OMAR, OASIS, OMS, SIBR) and associated data elements;
*Understanding of CAISO energy and capacity market fundamentals;
*Knowledge of wholesale electric trading, scheduling, andbidding systems
*Intermediate Excel Skills (tested during interview process);
*Attention to detail/high level of organization;
*Business/Financial Acumen;
*Strong communication skills (written and oral); and
*Excellent analytical skills.

Desired Qualifications:
*Understanding of EPP business
*Experience with EPP trading and scheduling systems (PPIC, FBS, QIC, ODMS)
*Understanding of Electric Settlements business
*Experience with wholesale power settlement systems,preferably Openlink Endur and Endimensions enSuite products.


Electric Contract Settlements (50%)
*Manage a number of Bilateral Renewable and Tolling energy contracts and ensure all activities are in compliance with contractprovisions.
*Perform invoice validation including processing of statements for payables and creating invoices for receivables.
*Interact with counterparties on settlement related issues, Electric Trading on scheduling and dispatch issues, ContractManagement on contract interpretation issues, and Legal on potential dispute issues.
*Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on contract and CAISO data.

Reporting and Compliance (20%)
*Track costs and volumes related to assigned contractsfor financial reporting purposes.
*Work with others in the organization and external departments (e.g., Corporate Accounting, Law, Revenue Requirements, etc.) to properly categorize costs for recovery.
*Work within the existing control structure to meetall Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), internal and external auditing requirements. Ensure that all activities and documentation are in compliance.
*On an as-needed basis, serve as witness and/or witness assistant, respond to data requests and develop data requests forsubmittal in regulatory and legislative proceedings.
*Work with Contract Management, Regulatory Affairs, Revenue Requirements, and Corporate Accounting as needed for proper reporting of new procurement activities.

New Contract Implementation (15%)
*Support Senior Analysts to design and implement settlement and billing processes for new procurement activities including but not limited to: short-, mid-, and long-term contracts resulting from PG&E Requests For Offers (RFOs) and Renewables and Tollingcontracts.
*Work closely with Contract Management on implementation issues and participate in contract negotiations representing ES .
*Create settlement template spreadsheets or database tools required for performing invoice validation and/orinvoice/statement creation.
*Document processes and create desktop procedures as part of the implementation process.

Process Improvement/Projects (15%)
*Assist Senior Settlements Analyst on providing business analysis and recommendations relatedto the application and enhancement of the database system that supports the reconciliation of electric and gas costs.
*Implement improvements and process automation for invoice estimation.
*Collaborate with other groups in the EPP organization andInformation Systems Technology Services (ISTS) as needed.
*Work on cross-functional goal teams to accomplish department goals.
