The OSS Alignment Specialist will manage all aspects of alignment and analysis for Steam and Gas Turbine projects.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead alignment projects by taking precision data with laser tracker, interpret data, recommend and manage moves
  • Support OSS Service Manager for on-site alignment projects
  • Execute assignments according to GE EHS and Quality requirements
  • Complete all pre-job planning and post job reporting required, fulfilling the needs of the customer as assigned. This can include machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies and preparation and review of EHS Safety Plan / Quality Plan
  • OSS Supervisor will be proficient in all aspects of steam and gas turbine alignments and be able to independently complete assignments to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Ensure OSS EHS Rules are reviewed and understood with crew prior to starting work
  • Have daily tool box talks to address any safety issues that may arise and should include Site EHS Manager
  • Support OSS Supervisors for large repair and machining projects as needed
  • Provide technical direction to those performing the work on Customer sites in line with technical requirements.
  • Provide guidance / leadership on crew duties and assignments such that the project is completed in a safe manner with quality results within the schedule allowed
  • Specialist duties will include but not be limited to: projects as assigned by OSS management, development of "New Technology" service offerings, delivery of training to broader OSS team, and to drive safety, quality, and customer-centric culture to OSS team onsite
  • Ensure documentation is completed: STA's, Safety Observations, Quality Documents, Technical Data Sheets, list of procedures followed, EngaGE final reports, etc. Provide OSS progress updates to PS customer team and OSS SM
  • Mentor and develop OSS technicians on the job
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Steam and/ or Gas Turbine Technologies
  • Ability and willingness to travel significantly with NO restrictions, both domestic and international
  • High degree of experience/ expertise with rotating equipment alignments
  • Ability to gain access to and work in nuclear power plants, maritime facilities and countries other than US
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and 2nd shift
