We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Field Service Engineer in our Operating Plant Business line with the position being located in Madison, PA.

In this position, a Principal Field Service Engineer can expect to perform the following duties:
  • Support the development and field implementation of Alloy 600 mitigation/repair projects.
  • Perform design engineering activities including equipment tooling design and testing, access studies, and field equipment layouts.
  • Lead teams of Engineers, Designers and Technicians in developing, testing and validating unique design solutions for equipment to aid component installations and modifications.
  • Perform engineering activities related to subcontractor and tooling fabrication purchase orders.
  • Support the development of proposals including cost estimates, risk assessments and technical descriptions.
  • Provide technical solutions for challenges related to implementing Alloy 600 projects.
  • Participate and lead design review activities.
  • Support the Project Manager for the headquarters preparation, engineering work, crew training, and crew supervision of the field service projects.
  • Participate in customer site surveys gathering site data in support of the field service efforts.
  • Support reactor internals inspection and repair projects.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • A Bachelor's of Science degree in a technical discipline (e.g. B.S. Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering with mechanical aptitude) is required.
  • Minimum work experience in related field 5 years
  • Leadership skills in forming high performance teams and directing them to achieve assigned goals and objectives.
  • Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, assess alternatives, and implement solutions in hands on work environment.
  • Effective communication skills to support work assigned to multiple internal and external organizations involved in the RCUMP projects.
  • Experience with risk management tools and processes.
  • Technical experience related to stress calculations and code case experience is desirable.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Project, and Powerpoint experience.
  • Familiarity with design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3-D modeling software) is desirable.
  • Previous supervision of technical work groups, including oversight of craft workers/union personnel is desirable.
  • Working effectively and safely in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain "Unescorted Access" status; subject to drug and alcohol screening, and background investigation.
  • Willing to travel 25-35% in a lead role in support of field project implementation activities.
