Role synopsis
The GBS ANZ 2020 Vision is to be the leading innovation and business services delivery centre in the sector - a source of sustainable competitive advantage for BP. A key pillar within the 2020 Vision and Strategy is for GBS ANZ to be a Centre of Innovation.

In response to the 2020 Vision an Innovation Advisor role has been created with the purpose to lead GBS ANZ's development of the Innovation strategy, develop a road map and then oversee and coordinate the execution and delivery of the Innovation strategy and plan.

Key accountabilities
The role will be responsible for:
  • Leading the design, development and delivery of the Innovation 2020 strategy and associated in-year plans and deliverables; Ensuring the Innovation 2020 strategy is effectively communicated, rolled out and understood across GBS ANZ
  • Engaging and working with stakeholders to coordinate, track and report on the delivery of all elements of the Innovation 2020 strategy, including Resources, Capability, Culture, Communications, the Innovation Framework, etc
  • Working with Tower Leadership Teams to ensure a pipeline of Innovation initiatives across all Towers, including large and small scale innovation initiatives; Support Tower Leaders in the prioritisation of initiatives, resources, funding and efforts
  • Leading the creation, delivery, documentation and maintenance of the GBS ANZ Innovation Framework methodology, including managing an Innovation tracker and idea repository
  • Lead the use of the Innovation Framework for large scale innovation initiatives, including coordinating Innovation teams and events and coaching and advising Innovation project teams on use of the Framework
  • Leading the delivery of various initiatives to support small scale innovation initiatives
  • Leading the development and coordination of various Innovation events - i.e. 'crowd sourcing' events across GBS ANZ and potentially in conjunction with GBS ANZ's partners (ASPAC FVC and Lubes)
  • Tracking and reporting on Innovation budget spend and associated ROI for Innovation initiatives
  • Work jointly with the OD and Communications Teams and Leaders to coordinate plans and initiatives to build a culture of Innovation across GBS ANZ, as well as Innovation capability
  • Being the GBS ANZ Centre of Expertise on Design Thinking and playing an active role in coaching leaders and Innovation project teams
  • Leading the exporting of Innovations to other GBS Centres, including exporting the Innovation Framework
  • Proactively seeking out and working with GBS globally and GBS ANZ partners (ASPAC FVC and Lubes) in the exploration of joint Innovation initiatives and campaigns focused on offering a better service to customers and positioning GBS as 'easy to do business with'.
  • Driving external best practice and thought leadership on Innovation locally within GBS ANZ
  • Working with peers in GBS ANZ responsible for CI, Automation and Ops Excellence to ensure any Innovation initiatives are aligned with wider organisational priorities

Essential Education
Tertiary qualification in a business related field is required

Essential experience and job requirements
  • In depth knowledge of Innovation and Design thinking methodology
  • Demonstrated experience in end to end process flow methodology
  • Minimum 5 years' experience operating in a complex, matrix organisation
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Change management skills and experience is desirable
