Petrofac is recruiting an Instrument Technician

Since the mid 1990’s, Petrofac has provided Operations Support services to CNR’s Ninian, Murchison and Tiffany fixed installations in the UK Continental Shelf.

The Role:

We require an Instrument Technician to work offshore on one of our CNR Assets. Working on a 3/3 rota, flying via Scatsta, the holder of the role will perform planned maintenance; trouble shooting, inspections, repairs and overhauls on offshore instrumentation equipment and systems.

Further duties include:
  • maintaining the proper condition of tools, test equipment and workshop equipment
  • properly documenting and accurately reporting all maintenance, configurations, repairs, overhauls, adjustments and inspections
  • undertaking training as offered by the company to expand competency
  • assisting in ensuring the integrity of the installation Permit To Work System from an Instrument perspective
  • ensuring all activities comply with applicable Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, and that personnel and the environment are not subjected to situations of unacceptable risk
  • adhering to relevant systems and procedures and contributing to their review and improvement
  • complying with the standards in place at the facility or area to which they have been assigned
  • assisting in the management of any emergency situation which may arise offshore in accordance with Company Emergency Response Procedures
  • performing nominated tasks in the Emergency Response team
  • providing Fire & Gas assistance when required

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar offshore role, with valid offshore certificates including CompEx. They will have a good understanding of practical and theoretical principles of all electrical/ instrument hazardous areas equipment. Knowledge of the ISSOW Permit to Work system is required as is previous experience and a willingness to undertake Performing Authority and Isolating Authority duties. Maximo experience would be highly beneficial. Previous experience on a CNR Asset would be advantageous.
