Job Overview:

Aids in the preparation of contractual provisions and the administration of contract proposals.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for preparing bids and negotiating specifications and contractual provisions per M &C divisional needs.
  • High interaction with project management and vendors will be expected.
  • Work with project staff and construction management personnel to develop the subcontract strategy on each project.
  • Ensure all subcontracts are identified and scheduled in the 'Subcontract Execution Plan'. Prepares subcontract plans and award schedule and works with project/construction team to execute.
  • Manages the commercial aspects of the subcontracts from inquiry through award, execution, and closeout of the subcontracts pursuant to established procedures.
  • Prepares, distributes and updates Subcontract Execution Plan for the Project.
  • Establishes proposed bidders list for all subcontracts, including prequalification of bidders. Issue inquiry packages in accordance with execution schedule.
  • Is the liaison with Commercial/Legal group regarding Subcontract Terms and Conditions of inquires and Subcontracts.
  • Liaison with Engineering regarding the technical content of each inquiry and Subcontract.
  • Evaluates bids/proposals and recommends lowest qualified bidder for award.
  • Develops and distributes 'Conformed Subcontracts' following award.
  • Negotiate change orders and other commercial oriented matters through closeout.
  • Develops and maintains all 'Subcontract Reports' in accordance with established procedures. Maintains proper files on all pre-award and post award documentation.
