The Generator Services Lead Requisition Engineer is responsible for assigned engineering work with a latitude for independent action as a function of experience, knowledge and expertise.

Essential Responsibilities

The Generator Services Lead Requisition Engineer will carry out these activities with the objective of providing accurate and timely overall generator technical project management CM&U (Conversions, Modifications & Upgrades) orders which meet GE design and experience in support of services activities while achieving leadership in reliability and customer service.
You will be responsible for performing technical proposals in the Conversions, Modifications & Upgrades (CM&U) business, working upfront with our customers and sales team in the early stages of an opportunity to help define the technical solution that GE can offer.

As the Generator Services Lead Requisition Engineer, you will:

• Own the overall technical CMU order - each RM manages at least ~20 CMU projects per year.
• Must demonstrate ownership under uncertainty environments and show a sense of urgency to get things done according to the expectations of our Customers and the business.
• Be the Voice of the Customer to Engineering and vice versa.
• Create and coordinate overall engineering and drafting deliverables via PLM activities (Product Lifecycle Management)
• Integrate with PSE (Power Services Engineering) Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Vendors, Service Shops and other teams as necessary to support customer outage on time, scope and cost.
• Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, project schedule progress and budgeted hours.
• Support customer meetings, State of the Art Conferences, GE and Industry conferences
• Improve the projects effectiveness by recommending/establishing procedures, work instructions and records, sharing lessons learned and experiences with co-workers etc.
• Support other team members, domestic and global, technically, and personally, upholding the highest moral and integrity standards
• Provide timely and accurate responses to technical guidance to internal/external inquiries using technical files (such as Design Data, Previous Reports, etc.), personal experience, knowledge and information from other technical experts as necessary
• Conduct assessments and develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
• Coach & mentor to less experienced engineers through sharing the applicability on Generator components, assemblies and systems knowledge.
• Document lessons learned on each of the assigned projects in order to share them later with the Generator Services Requisition team so that as a result; simplification projects be implemented, processes and procedures be updated/created and Cost-of-Quality be identified and reduced for future projects.
• Promote, participate in and lead process improvement projects.
• Ensure timely completion of all project objectives
• Assure project documentation for the assigned projects and/or tasks is consistent customer's requirements


• BS degree plus 6 years of experience or Master's degree plus 3 years of experience or PhD degree. (Degree must be in an engineering, mechanical, electrical, electronic or related field).
• Minimum of 3 years of Engineering proven experience on GE Generators & Accessories technology.
• Minimum of 1 years of proven Project Management experience handling cost, scope, time, risks, customer satisfaction, quality and resource.
• English skills: Excellent written, oral and listening comprehension both in Spanish & English.
• Communication in English must have a High / Intermediate level (Must be able to maintain a normal day-to-day conversation on any topic)
• Strategic and clear thinking to translate discrete and complex ideas to business driven results.
• Presentation Skills: ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.
• Demonstrated ability in managing projects across functions.
• Capable of coaching others to accomplish assignments.

Desired Characteristics

• Desired, but not mandatory a minimum of 3 years Other Original Equipment Manufacturers Generator technology experience.
• Field experience and/or knowledge on GE Heavy Duty Generators (Air Cooled, Water Cooled, Hydrogen Cooled, etc)
• Solid Knowledge of Generator product lines and systems
• Knowledgeable of Power Systems, Power Plants, Controls, Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Generator equipment and terminology.
