We wish to recruit a Transport Modeller to complement our current team in London, UK. You will become part of a respected and ambitious team, and the role will provide every opportunity for you to make your mark and influence the continuing sustainable growth of Jacobs in the UK.

As a Transport Modeller you will be involved in delivering a wide range of transportation projects, for various high profile clients across the UK. In order for you to fulfil this role you must therefore have knowledge and at least 2 years of experience using industry standard modelling packages and recognised transport appraisal techniques.

Primary Job Responsibilities

As a Transport Modeller you will be involved in the delivery of a wide range of strategic transport projects, primarily on behalf of Local Authority clients but with opportunities to engage with colleagues from across the UK. You will support a team working on a variety of transport planning projects and will be responsible for the preparation and use of a wide range of transport models and the development of scheme reports.
Essential Criteria

  • A numerate degree in a relevant subject for example Mathematics, Geography or Economics.
  • You will have demonstrable experience as a Transport Modeller for road traffic and/or public transport studies with the ability to contribute to the success of a range of high profile transport projects.
  • Experience in working with macroscopic transport modelling software (e.g. SATURN, VISUM CUBE, EMME, AIMSUN(Macroscopic)).
  • Ability to produce clear, precise and coherent analysis and reports from transport models and transport appraisal techniques.
  • Ability to work both as part of a team as well as possessing the ability to work independently to solve problems.

Desirable Criteria
  • MSc in Transport Planning.
  • Experience of statistical analysis / programming.
  • Experience in working with microscopic and/or local junction modelling software (e.g. VISSIM, AIMSUN(Microscopic), Paramics, Junctions8, Linsig, TRANSYT, ARCADY, PICADY).
  • Chartered Engineer or other relevant professional accreditation (Chartered Membership).
