Onshore Environment Manager for our Hornsea Project Three offshore wind farm Would you like to provide technical and project management support to one of the largest offshore wind farms in the world?
Join us and become an Onshore Environment Manager in the Environment & Consents UK team where you will be responsible for the development of the onshore aspects of our Hornsea Project Three offshore wind farm which, once completed, could be the world's largest offshore wind farm and will be capable of powering well over 2 million UK homes annually.
Environment & Consents UK is part of Wind Power, which has over 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. DONG Energy Wind Power is the world's largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe.
You will be based at our London, Victoria office. However, you should expect some travelling in the UK and, possibly, to Denmark in relation to your work.
Your key tasks will be to
  • support the Lead Onshore Environment Manager for Hornsea Project Three in delivering the onshore aspects of the DCO application for the project
  • drive the production of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), including contributing to strategy and programme for Hornsea Project Three
  • drive the procurement and management of onshore surveys, studies and preparation of environmental information for relevant topic areas for Hornsea Project Three
  • ensure compliance with preconditions of consents
  • responsible for specific external onshore stakeholders for Hornsea Project Three
Furthermore, you will report to the Consents Project Manager and offer input to onshore sub-package budget updates for lead topic areas, onshore sub-package programme for lead topic areas and internal gate documents. You will be responsible for liaising with Procurement on onshore survey procurement requirements for relevant topic areas as well as liaise and coordinate activities with Hornsea Zone projects. You will maintain records, data management and project consent matrix to support due diligence processes. Your experience in onshore development and planning may also require you to input to other DONG Energy Projects and maintain DONG Energy's external position as a world leading developer in external strategy groups.
Your qualifications and core competences include that you
  • have a relevant degree and extensive experience with consenting onshore linear projects in the UK, ideally with some experience of consent project management of large DCO projects; experience in the offshore wind sector may be an advantage but is not essential
  • have experience with delivering project activities to programme, cost and specification
  • have experience with managing multiple external resources
  • have awareness of renewable energy and planning policy and the complexities of developing NSIP projects; experience with onshore archaeology, transport and traffic management could be beneficial
  • possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to communicate your messages smoothly and efficiently to internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels
Moreover, you have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks, recognising the importance of deadlines. You thrive in an international environment and are able to create good relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You are a collaborative team player and speak and write English fluently.
