Petrofac is recruiting a Senior Commercial Manager to join our team based in Aberdeen.

The role:
The Senior Commercial Manager will provide commercial and contractual support to the designated service lines Directors and their teams in the delivery of tenders, projects and the service line annual business plans

Main responsibilities:

  • leading and directing commercial teams across designated service lines to deliver consistent good performance
  • agreeing with Head of Commercial a set of metrics against which performance can be benchmarked across the business
  • managing commercial and contractual relationships and negotiations with clients
  • participating in the development of the commercial strategy for tender responses
  • coordinating the delivery of the commercial and contractual input into tenders and associate risk review process
  • ensuring processes and governance are implemented, fit for purpose and initiating improvements
  • managing and monitoring the commercial performance of each project within the service line
  • developing the functional risk register for assigned service lines
  • drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial documents
  • ensuring commercial and operational teams mitigate risks involved with commercial terms, contract structure, and pricing
  • working with service line leads to implement project commercial strategy and review its execution regularly
  • managing and monitoring the reporting and communicating of the monthly commercial reports on contracts
  • analysing performance of projects and identifying opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency and/or profit growth and adoption of commercial best practice
  • supporting the service line with the management of contract change control and claims management
  • monitoring the commercial cost base for all on-going projects identifying trends that may impact overall performance
  • ensuring contractual obligations, deliverables and exposures are managed in a timely and appropriate manner and subcontracts have suitable back to back provisions
  • supporting recruitment, mentoring, performance and talent management, guidance and training of commercial team

Candidates should preferably be degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Quantity Surveying or Law and they should be able to demonstrate commercial and contract management experience in an oil and gas services company providing operations, maintenance and duty holder services as well as related on and offshore construction activities.

Candidates should also have significant experience in leading teams, excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills as well as the ability to manage workloads to meet deadlines.
