As the Engineer Laser Cladding you will be responsible for identifying, developing, industrializing, and globalizing new laser cladding processes and associated technologies in the GT Service Network. Responsibilities will include process development and industrialization in Repair Development Center projects, supporting technology and productivity initiatives for the Global Repair Services Network.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Engineer Laser Cladding, you will:
Coordinate with RTCoE and PGS teams to drive standardized cladding process improvements to enable contractual services productivity, as well as transactional services growths
Create Special Process Documents for repair processes developed in the RDC
Validate Service centers repair process qualifications / certifications
Develop new repair process technology to assist component team in implementing repair strategy
Perform repair process technology jugular experiments in RDC's
Create repair materials / process technology validation plan in conjunction with component engineers
Define industrialized process audit / quality requirements and perform audits of global service centers for adherence to best practices / process requirements
Support laser cladding related readiness to serve for global service centers
Lead productivity projects for RDC
Interface with MPE and Design engineering and participate in design reviews for repair development
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews


Master Degree in Engineering, Physics or Materials from an accredited college or university
Significant experience of engineering
Ability and willingness to travel a minimum 30% of the time, as required

Desired Characteristics

Experience with Laser Cladding, including establishing process parameters
Additional understanding in manufacture or repair of industrial gas turbine components and related manufacturing processes
Sound materials background
Ideally some first experience in manufacturing, repair, or project management
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion
