System and Network Engineer

E.ON Climate & Renewables (EC&R) is responsible for E.ON's industrial-scale renewable energy activities. We develop, build and operate large renewable energy assets primarily in Europe and North America. Our technology portfolio covers onshore and offshore wind and photovoltaic (PV) solar power.
This role sits within our Asset Information System / Site Operations department.
AIS Site Operations is taking care of decentralized infrastructure and are responsible for automated data acquisition. Supporting the power plants and the project teams on operative or construction sites, providing solutions for various requirements.
The System and Network Engineer will travel around our different sites, put servers in place, support the project, implement new technologies, drive harmonisation and standardization. You will also be responsible for project reporting and troubleshooting - both remotely and on site. 
We will support you with any training needed for your development, whether this is technical or management training needed.
You will be part of a team of 10 people, with plans to grow this team to 13. 3 of which are based in the UK.
You will normally work Monday to Friday office hours, you will travel around sites as needed however the role is essentially based at Westwood, Coventry so you should live nearby there or be willing to relocate.
Essential skill requirements:
  • Experience of operational experience in network technologies (fibre optics and serial).
  • VMWare\Hyper-Visor experience including a good understanding of storage technology
  • IT / computer Science University degree or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally
  • Full clean UK Driving license
 Desirable skills:
  • Cisco - CCNA would be an advantageous
  • Experience with Windturbine SCADA systems would be plus
  • Experience in project management
