Structured Originator for the European gas market Would you like to execute innovative structured gas deals in a dynamic environment, taking on the responsibilities as deal structurer and negotiator?
Join us and become Structured Originator in Gas Portfolio Management where we manage and optimise the gas assets and gas contract portfolio. The Structured Origination Gas team works on the commodity markets, adding to and shaping the gas portfolio to increase profit potential and reduce risks. We work closely with traders, portfolio analysts, valuation analysts, counterparts, banks, attorneys and risk managers.
The department is part of Distribution & Customer Solutions which has 1500 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We handle the production from our wind farms and oil and gas fields to the energy exchanges and customers in Northern Europe, and we distribute electricity and natural gas to businesses and private customers in Denmark.
You will be working out of our trading floor in Virum in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work.
Your key duties will be to
  • take on a role in identifying, structuring and executing deals with end-to-end engagement in order to create extra value or reduce risks for the portfolio. Thus, you conduct portfolio analysis to identify opportunities and structure products based on portfolio or market opportunities
  • Identify, structure, negotiate and enter into structured transactions with counterparties in Europe with regards to sale or purchase of natural gas or related services
  • act as key account manager for selected counterparties
  • ensure approval from all the relevant stakeholders such as risk management, legal, operations, back office and portfolio management
  • prepare decision material for senior management.
Furthermore, you will ensure business implementation of done deals and ensure follow up on these deals with back-office and finance.
Your qualifications and core competences include that you
  • have a master's degree in economics/engineering/mathematics or another relevant master's degree combined with a strong commercial acumen and an interest in energy markets
  • have relevant experience within energy sales to industrial and business customers in Western Europe; trading from an energy company, or similar will be an upside
  • have a strong analytical mind-set and are not put off by complexity. You will be expected to drive complex issues to a decision within an agreed time line
  • can learn to identify value and risk drivers in wholesale gas transactions and structure innovative deals
  • you are a strong-term player who can work across the organisation.
Moreover, you take initiatives to develop the business and do not hesitate to challenge consensus. You are a strong communicator, which will be valuable in your daily work. On a personal level, you are performance-driven and equipped with good negotiations skills.
