ABB Robotics, part of ABB's Robotics and Motion division, currently has an opening for a driven Area Sales Manager. A unique opportunity to enhance your skills within robotics and automation and where the support you provide your local markets will be a key factor in driving growth. This is your chance to enhance your skills in business relationships and B2B sales and marketing and your knowledge of the entire ABB Robotics value chain in Sweden and abroad. ABB Robotics develops, manufactures and markets robots and associated control systems, software, arc welding products, tracks and motor packages. In Sweden we have bases in Västerås, Jönköping and Gothenburg. Over 90 per cent of our production goes to export and our customers include all major auto manufacturers. The auto industry and its sub suppliers and to an increasing extent general industry, such as the food industry, are automating their production with robots. Welding, machine tending, materials management, grinding, packaging and assembly are the most common applications. Our robots and robotics are sold via local ABB companies and via independent systems integrators and OEM companies - companies we call our Partners. The unit has 700 employees.

As a key member of the Sales Support team, you will provide local ABB sales organizations, primarily in Europe and South America, with technical and commercial expertise and support throughout the entire sales process. Specific tasks include forecasting order intake and providing input to the global sales and operational planning processes. Furthermore, you will ensure effective communication on operations- and product-related activities, including product launches. You will also act as a key technical resource for our systems in technical meetings, product presentations and in the preparation of demanding offers.

This complex role involves a high degree of outward facing contact and travel to the countries for which you are responsible. You will, together with the local sales organization, work with major end customers and system integrators (ABB Value Providers). Internally, you will build a wide-ranging contact network of colleagues in Sweden and our sister factories in Shanghai and Auburn Hills in the US, specifically in product management, global and local account management, R&D, operations and supply management.

You are ambitious and outgoing, and your outstanding social skills make you a highly
effective leader. As a results-focused team player, with excellent planning and organization abilities, you have a proven track record in project management.

You have at least a Bachelor's degree in engineering and several years' professional experience in automation, preferably robotics. Fluency in English is required and competency in Swedish, German, French, Spanish or Portuguese would be advantageous.
