We are seeking a Protection &Control Engineer (Emphasis on Relay settings) who will work as a member of a dynamic team within our Energy Solutions Operation. This Engineer will work as a team member that solves challenging substation engineering problems. In this entry level role the qualified individual will require a combination of strong engineering and interpersonal skills and high attention to detail with a passion for quality. Additionally, the candidate may work directly with clients in collaboration and supporting other senior staff in remote office locations. Working closely with supervisor and other more senior level engineers, assignments will cover the full range of basic analysis, project planning through design and review and construction support. Design work may range from Protection and Control schemes at 12.5kV through 500kV to Smart Grid and substation communications projects.

B.S. with advanced M.S. degree in electrical engineering preferred.
• Experience as a co-op and/or internship at electric utility is a major advantage
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of power system protection.
• Minimum of 2 year relevant experience in high voltage electrical utility substation protection and control engineering
• Experience and familiar with:
• Schematic, one, and three-line diagrams
• Substation design and protective relaying is an advantage
• Some experience with calculations of relay settings for microprocessor relays including SEL and GE for both transmission line relays (line differential, POTT and DCB schemes) and substation relays (capacitors, transformers and buses).
• Schweitzer AcSELerator QuickSet, General Electric EnerVista software is an advantage.
• Capable of using ASPEN and CAPE for coordination studies and fault study analysis is a significant advantage.
• Experience with Mathcad, AutoCAD, or Microstation is an advantage

• Team player who can work effectively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills when interfacing with clients and staff
• Periodic travel may be required
