We operate 100,000 barrels per day refinery in Milnerton, Cape Town, that produces gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, liquefied petroleum gas, fuel oil, paving asphalt and other products. Chevron South Africa also has interests in a lubricant oil manufacturing plant in Durban and maintains a laboratory and blending plant there.

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Chief Security Officer located in Alrode, South Africa through December 5, 2016.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Manages National Key Point Security Requirements
  • Represents the Alrode Terminal Management at strategic government state security committees
  • Provides expert advice and support to the Facility Management on facility security strategies, threat assessments, mitigations planning and implementation, business continuity and emergency planning
  • Implements company Security of Personnel and Assets (SP&A) Policy and recommended Global Security best practices
  • Implements security measures and procedures for the Alrode Terminal following guidelines provided by the National Key Point (NKP) Act and Chevron Southern Africa Security Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • Senior Certificate, PSIRA Grade A and a degree in Security Management or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years solid experience as an NKP Security Manager in the petroleum or mining industry or 5 years NKP Training Instructor experience
  • National Key Point competency training certificate
  • Firearms and Ammunition Handling training competency certificate
  • Good Communication skills
  • Knowledge of investigations protocol and case management
  • Experience in security threat/risk and vulnerability assessment procedures
  • Knowledge of physical security principles
  • Dedicated and able to work flexible hours
  • Must be knowledgeable of the following:

-Weighbridge procedures
-Microsoft Applications
-Networking and intelligence collection
-Developing and managing Security Operating Procedures

Preferred Qualification:

  • Previous experience from the National Security Agencies(SAPS or SANDF)will add an advantage

Relocation Options:

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.
