Position Summary

Supports a project with reporting, setup and support of Smart3D software on a project. Accomplishes results through teaming with design leads and designers in multiple disciplines by developing solutions to problems of unusual complexity that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. May support multiple projects at the same time.

  • Gain a full understanding of the scope, overall schedule, deliverables, milestones and coordination procedure
  • Develop the effort hour estimate for supporting Smart3D on a project
  • Provide input to the project lead for the Interactive planning meeting and schedule development to establish major milestones
  • Develop an Smart3d implementation plan to satisfy budget and schedule
  • Be knowledgeable of Jacobs' procedures, and project procedures and specifications
  • Provide feedback to construction work areas and construction work packaging within the projects of responsibility
  • Establish design areas within the unit/area of responsibility
  • Monitor 3D modeling and design activities.
  • Identify and request information in the form of a 'Needs List' in order to maintain schedule
  • Utilize 3D model reporting software to assist monitoring design quality and progress
  • Review deliverables prior IFC issue to ensure there are 3D no system problems
  • Ensure that all hardware and software are in place for design reviews for the project
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in use of 3D systems for facilities required
  • Associate's degree or 2 years of college course work required
  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
  • 5 years Smart3D model design and support experience required including setup of modeling, isometric extraction, orthographic drawing production. Experience with clash detection and resolution, and diagnosing modeling problems including identifying source of the problem for further resolution by other subject matter experts.
  • Experience utilizing LFM laser scan data and utilizing other 3D systems a plus.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills required
  • Experience with SmartPlant Foundation a plus.
