Primary Responsibilities

  • The purpose of this role is to efficiently and effectively manage the JFS workshops and facilities in Grimsby, in order to provide the required service to all customers within our 3 Lines of Business.
  • To ensure that the workshops are a safe environment to work in and that all procedures are adhered to.
  • To manage all costs associated with the workshops, and each job, in order to maximize margins.
  • To ensure that all quality procedures are followed.
  • To implement and administer a planning system that ensures that all work is completed and delivered to the client on time.

Key Relationships

Reports to: FSUK General Manager

Line Management of: Workshop Supervisors in the Grimsby workshops, and Stores


  • Resource coordinators, HR Advisors, Project Managers , Safety Team, QA Team, Stores Team
  • Recruitment of Staff: Works with the Resource Coordinators and HR on search , selection and recruitment of all Workshop employees


  • Lead by example and ensure that all procedures are complied with.
  • Ensure that regular audits are carried out to cover: facilities, machinery, behaviours and housekeeping.
  • Work collaboratively with the SHE team to ensure new initiatives are implemented effectively.
  • Deliver regular toolbox talks to the workshop personnel to promote an improved safety culture.


  • Ensure that all workshop jobs are delivered to the agreed cost.
  • Develop and utilise a cost and change management tool to support the effective delivery of all jobs.
  • Manage workshop and facility budgets within the agreed limits
  • Planning/Scheduling
  • Develop and implement a robust planning tool to enable on time delivery of all jobs.
  • Develop and implement a workshops resource planning tool to manage effectively deliver the agreed plan.


  • Accountable to implement all quality control measures within the workshops.
  • Accountable to ensure that the client is delighted with the service provided by the Workshops.

Grimsby Facilities

  • Responsible to carry out regular repairs and maintenance of all facilities in Grimsby.
  • Responsible for managing and supervising all maintenance contracts associated with the Grimsby facilities
  • Ensure all works carried out on site are correctly supervised
  • Manage the Stores according to agreed targets and objectives.

Other Facilities

  • Liaise with other facilities eg Thatcham, Workington, Scunthorpe to ensure we have a consistent approach to how we manage all JFS Workshops and facilities.


Ensure competence of all personnel working in the workshops.

Liaise with the Training team to ensure competence and further development of personnel.

Responsible for performance management of all direct reports.
