As part of the WorleyParsons Power Networks Group’s Civil Engineering Department, you will assist in the delivery of civil/structural engineering services to our customers. We are seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience with a utility and/or utility consulting company providing design engineering services.


  • Deliver civil/structural engineering services that meet WorleyParsons', its customers' and applicable statutory and regulatory standards and specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Perform civil/structural engineering services such as:
    • contribute to appropriate studies, analyses and recommend actions;
    • direct the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports in accordance with client specified requirements and industry accepted standards and specifications.
    • services will specifically include, but not limited to, structural designs, exiting structure loading analyses, foundation designs, structure loading calculations, quantity take offs, and code/permitting research.
  • Communicate effectively with the civil engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions.
  • Direct the efforts of others in the team to prepare client submittal documents.
  • Perform internal quality reviews and detailed examinations of client deliverable documents based on client requirements and industry accepted standards and specification.

What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience
  • Strong background in the design of foundations and equipment support structures for electrical substations.
  • Technical and practical civil/structural engineering skills.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of civil/structural engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Skills in civil engineering specific software.
  • Experience with site development, oil spill containment design, preparation of spill control and countermeasure plans and design of retaining walls and sound barriers is a plus.
  • Experience in the development of bid/construction packages for projects in compliance with client's engineering and construction specifications,
  • Experience in definition of project requirements, identification of conflicting utilities, engineering and design calculations, and construction permit development.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • A recognized and relevant B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering registration
  • Experience with RISA 3D, RISA Foundation and LPile software, preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microstation and Civil 3D software preferred
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in providing civil/structural engineering services for power substations and other electric utility facilities.
