Job Overview:

CB&I's Oil and Gas division currently has an opening for a Principal Environmental Process Design Engineer for our Houston, TX location. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and in a team setting within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for following process flows and process design data to determine environmental control requirements then specify the appropriate equipment.
  • The Engineer will also be responsible for the applicable modelling of EPC projects.
  • Performs as Subject Matter Expert in Air Emissions Control Systems, Wastewater Treatment Systems, or Hazardous Waste Management Systems, and USEPA Environmental Regulations and Standards.
  • Assists with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.
  • Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I's end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
  • Responsible for complex deliverables such as conceptual process design, process simulations, heat and material balances, P&ID and PFD development.
  • Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensures effective management of change.
  • Adopt and leverage CB&I's Engineering Standards. Maintain or support any site specific requirements or standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Chemical Engineering required
  • Minimum 15 years experience with an EPC firm
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Environmental Process Design Engineering within an EPC firm
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15 years in Environmental Engineering within an EPC firm
  • Masters of Science Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, State of Texas
  • Experience as an Area or Team Lead
  • Experience with LNG or Ethylene related projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
