The Services Sales Manager, Renewable Energy is responsible for driving profitable growth in the Renewable Energy Onshore Wind portfolio through increasing sales of GE's wind turbines services to include contractual agreements, upgrades, and complex transactional agreements along with driving and facilitating GE onshore wind turbine unit sales.

Essential Responsibilities

You will maintain existing customer relationships, develop new clients, create product demand and demonstrate an ability to work closely with product management, services, supply chain, finance commercial operations and projects.

As the Services Sales Manager, Renewable Energy, you will:
• Identify and create close working relationships with all key personnel at assigned accounts and develop a thorough understanding of their renewable energy strategies and needs
• Promote a customer centric mindset within the Renewable Energy business
• Provide commercial and technical assistance to assigned accounts and foster the development their renewable energy strategies
• Insure GE wind services and products have favorable consideration in all projects at assigned accounts
• Understand the impact of national and regional market drivers, financing and competiveness of GE's Renewable Energy services and products
• Identify project issues early and anticipate competitor moves
• Stay current with the development of GE's new Renewable Energy services and products and effectively communicate their value to assigned accounts
• Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities with assigned accounts
• Identify, understand, and communicate to the Renewable Energy business, customer issues which are critical
• Work effectively in a team environment with Commercial Operations, Technical Operations, Engineering, Finance, OTR (order to remittance) and new unit sales to insure the most efficient use of all resources
• Integrate broader GE Power and GE Energy Connections products and services into both strategic and transactional activities and opportunities
• Participate in and support renewable energy trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities
• Support and participate in additional GE cross-business activities and processes such as Cross-Business Lead Sharing and Net Promoter Score
• Maintain accurate and current project and opportunity information within the on-line Sales Force application tool and manage the ITO (Inquiry to Order) process for assigned accounts
• Participate in annual sales and customer planning processes
• Be accountable for orders, pricing / profitability, cash, risk assessment, terms & conditions, and customer satisfaction
• Understand and dissect key customer financial metrics in order to properly outcome based sell GE wind service solutions while maximizing GE profitability


• Bachelor's Degree in a business or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in power generation equipment sales or completion of a GE leadership program (GE employees only)

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

• Practical understanding of current and emerging requirements of the renewable energy or power generation markets and customer financial drivers and needs

• Performance relative to assigned accounts and region Operating Plan (orders, margin, cash, sales, Region Sales Leader objectives)
• Performance to Goals & Objectives (developed in cooperation with Region Sales Leader)
• Orders forecasting and accuracy
• Quality and accuracy of "Strategy to Win" plan developed for Risk Reviews
• Support of other regional and GE initiatives
• Management of T&L (Travel & Living) and other expenses
• Net Promoter Score Activities Participation and Improvement
• Knowledge of related products, services and markets
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Proficiency with computer applications used in the position including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Internet Explorer
• Green Belt Certification or equivalent quality certification
