The Developer requires in-depth understanding of software frameworks and data technologies. The selected candidate will be expected to take a "hands on" approach to working across multiple matrixed organizations. In order to successfully deliver robust solutions, with aggressive timelines and deliverables, the individual in this role must also possess excellent non-technical communication skills.

Essential Responsibilities

• Work with technical leads, designers and architects to understand the requirements and vision
• Ensure all code is maintainable, scalable, and testable
• Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas
• Lead the development of mobile best practices, guidelines and mobile design & development standards
• Publish weekly project status summaries - Utilize visualization technologies to help simplify the communication of status updates.
• Oversee individual program execution of assigned programs, and drive process improvement by applying project management best practices across ET project teams.
• Build and grow expertise in contemporary tools and concepts being used across the ET team, and be an evangelist for these tools as well as the current trends in this space
• Ensure solutions strike an appropriate balance in quality, cost, timeline, and GE simplification initiatives
• Ensure that solutions created by the ET team are clearly documented and communicated to stakeholders as appropriate


• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline
• A minimum of 5 years of IT experience with broad exposure to specific information technologies
• Extensive experience building web applications using HTML 5, JavaScript, and REST services
• Ability to create robust web applications from visual concepts, wireframes, and interactive product design sessions
• Experience with modern client-side libraries and application frameworks like Bootstrap, jQuery, jQuery UI, AngularJS, BackboneJS, EXT JS etc.
• Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, CSS3, HTML5
• Thorough knowledge of how client applications communicate over HTTP to services located on different web properties
• Experience with hybrid mobile application development using frameworks like Cordova, PhoneGap, etc
• Experience with integration through web services and APIs and the appropriate Standards (XML, JSON, REST, OAuth, Odata ,... etc)
• Experience working in an agile environment
• Experience working on cloud platforms like CloudFoundry, Docker, etc

Desired Characteristics

• Understanding of application security from OWASP perspective and experience with Server side scripting - NodeJS, SpringBoot, Spring MVC, etc
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes including SCM, Change Control Management, etc
• Strong interpersonal & verbal/written communication skills
• Must demonstrate a hands-on approach, attention to detail and results orientation
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making ability
• Ability to operate across technical and functional teams effectively
