Our full-scope global project services span the entire asset lifecycle from the initial conceptual phase of major greenfield developments to ongoing asset services and brownfield modifications projects.

We continue to grow and expand the breadth and depth of services we offer our customers, as well as the regions in which they operate.

Due to recent success by securing further work on a Term Services Contract for a UK Chemical Client w e are currently sourcing a Principal Planning / Schedule Engineer (P6) to join the Northern Operations Office on an agency hire basis, based in our Manchester office.

Duration: 6 months plus future projects

The key elements of the role are :

  • Manage all activities of the Planning Function relating to the project.
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the overall project schedule to ensure optimization of resources and control of all associated project work.
  • Ensure effective co-ordination within the project controls team and to its external interfaces.
  • Monitor engineering schedules to ensure that the engineering deliverables are scheduled to meet construction requirements.
  • Provide weekly reports on engineering and procurement progress, and inform management on areas of concern and advise remedial actions and alternatives to maintain the schedule.
  • Monitor contractor, vendor and sub-contractor schedules to ensure that the project has a realistic and achievable construction schedule.
  • Lead and direct other Planning / Schedule Engineer.

The candidate should have
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Confidence to interface with the client
  • Significant experience in Chemical, Oil & Gas brownfield FEED, EPC Design Projects.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience
  • Excellent technical and practical planning skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to WorleyParsons and its clients.
  • Substantial experience of FEED and EPCM engineering projects, including managing multi-discipline design activities with International EPCM contractors.
  • Substantial hands on experience in Planning
  • Must have experience in planning software like Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, demonstrated through client interaction, supervision, proposals and presentations.
  • Ability to negotiate successfully with clients and contractors through engineering and construction phases of the project.
  • Computer proficiency; thorough knowledge of project controls systems, procedures, techniques.
  • Working knowledge of both engineering design & construction.
