Operations Vestas Asia Pacific & China
This is a key role within the Construction area of Operations. The focus is on ensuring maximum safety in the site construction environment utilising established company protocols, systems and Federal and State legislation. There is scope to assist in safety improvement programs within this industry-leading company.

This role is based on the construction site and reports to the Site Manager Construction during construction of wind farms predominately throughout Australia and New Zealand.

  • Ensure the construction site complies with all Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements and applicable legislation during the construction phase of the project including activities and obligations to be undertaken by the company as a Principal Contractor
  • Plan and implement all QSE policies and procedures on site
  • Facilitate and conduct site inductions of site personnel, including direct Vestas employees, contractors, subcontractors, labour hire personnel and trades
  • Manage Subcontractor Safety and associated documentation
  • Facilitate site QSE monitoring programs including inspections and implementing proactive safety programs
  • Ensure internal systems are relevant and support Vestas and client's construction and reporting requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in Quality, Safety and Environment, including a thorough knowledge of current legislation, regulations, codes of practice and standards
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and review QSE management systems, polices and procedures
  • Good understanding of the construction industry, including experience managing QSE within a high risk construction environment
  • Ability to conduct the Verification of Competency
  • A Diploma in OH&S and/or Cert IV in OH&S or equivalent. Workplace Level 2 First Aid or higher. A current white card or equivalent for the construction industry

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, company staff, subcontractors and labourers
  • A practical, hands-on approach to resolving QSE issues during construction operation
  • Excellent time management and reporting skills

Additional information:

This position is based at construction sites within Australia with generally a minimum 6 day working week, and flexibility is required. There is future potential for working within the Asia-Pacific region.
The successful candidate will require some travel from time to time for training and education purposes.
