Position Summary

Our team is experiencing exciting growth within our established practice and we have a need for a new Construction Inspector Aide to join our team in Ft Myers, FL.

• Beginning level technical work supporting higher level technicians and engineers on highway and bridge projects.
• Perform a range of routine and standardized work which may include manual of electronic calculations and computations.
• Perform independent and routine inspections of construction processes and materials to ensure compliance.
• Perform a variety of simple material sampling.
• Perform contract administrative duties to include field measurement of pay item quantities and truck load tickets.
• Some knowledge of surveying or highway construction. General knowledge of mathematical functions. Ability to read and interpret such things as plans and specifications and good communications ability.

Training and Experience:

  • Graduation from High School is required..
  • One year of transportation experience is required.
  • Candidates must be mobile and able to travel.

  • Required to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to read and interpret roadway, structure, and bridge plans and specifications.
  • Some knowledge of construction including material, methods, plans and specifications; associated safety requirements.
  • Perform calculations using algebra, trigonometry and geometry.
  • Able and willing to work day or night shifts and/or flexible schedules including weekends as required to support the project requirements.
  • Work under exposure to inclement weather conditions.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe working environment
