Provide manufacturing engineering support to the various internal functions of Branch Plant 14510, this will include but is not restricted to the following: early involvement and communications at release stage with engineering teams, assisting in the provision of costing exercises, quotations, manufacture and design reviews.  Creation of manufacturing routings and processes, assisting the manufacturing facilities to create the product in line with engineering specification.  Develop and assist in product transfer to allow commercialisation of proven product.
•    The Manufacturing Engineer will be a part of the Manufacturing Services Team which is crucial in the success of bringing new product from the design teams and having it manufactured in line with specification. The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for accurate costings for quotes and tenders as well as confirmed orders.
•    Day to day working relationships will involve dealing with a variety of engineering teams, manufacturing sites, procurement teams as well as other members of the Manufacturing Services Team.
•    Safety - ensure that all activities are performed in accordance with company safety policies and you will be required to take part in regular health and safety activities as outlined by management.
•    Liaise and take part in quote and order review meetings with the sales and commercial support (SCS) team.  The Manufacturing Engineer will be required to provide budgetary costing in line with customer quote requirements, the consistency and accuracy of budgetary quoting is of high importance and interaction with both engineering and SCS will be required in order to achieve this.  Special requirements e.g. high nickel alloy tools / different elastomers and commensurate traceability level will also require consideration.
•    When requested, costing exercises will also require to be carried out on any future manufacturing projects, this will involve in-depth analysis of post manufacture findings or manufacturing alternatives, variances and any corrections discussed during post order wash-ups.  The full integration of the Weatherford supply chain both in the UK and via other Weatherford Manufacturing sites / GSO should be utilised in order to provide lowest cost of product and increased margin to the business but without jeopardising the level of quality and on time delivery.
•    Participate in engineering design reviews in order to ease the manufacturing process whenever possible in order to reduce machine time and hence product cost. A close working relationship with the Weatherford engineering teams will be the businesses success.
•    The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to assist in walking the product through the manufacturing process and provide support where necessary to in-house or external operations.  This may include the provision of off line programming assistance to work centres.
•    Review manufacturing variances in line with the Production Manager on completion of manufacture work orders to make sure the correct machining routes and processes are being applied and that the method of manufacture the operator has used is accurate and in line with meeting standard cost. The variance review promotes accountability and responsibility throughout the workshop.
•    Work prioritisation will be key as the ever changing and busy nature of our business means work priorities can change by the hour.
•    Must be proactive, reactive and have the ability to work on own initiative but where required be a strong team player.  Good organisational and time management skills are essential.  Good communication and negotiating skills are required but will be developed.
•    Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow colleagues and external vendors are key attributes, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills under pressure. 
•    Flexibility in regards duties where applicable to assist in all aspects of the Manufacturing Services Team.
•    HNC Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
•    A working understanding of computer based business systems and tools - Material Requirements Planning (MRP), JDE and Windchill experience. The ability to interpret and understand
•    A good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office elements would be beneficial although training will be provided.
