Jacobs currently has an opening for a Tier 3/4 Video Engineer at their customer site in the Reston, VA area.

The candidate will provide Tier 3-4 Audio Video support to a 24 hour Video Operations Center. The candidate will serve as the Tier 3-4 Video Engineer, reporting to the Video Operations Center Manager. The candidate will be a senior member of the operations and technical support staff performing call setup, VTC conference scheduling/monitoring, and tier3 and 4 troubleshooting support.

  • Provides direct and indirect support of all video products in assigned locations.
  • Lead a team of four A/V technicians in the operations and maintenance of all A/V and VTC components and systems which includes control systems.
  • Ensure all tasks, activities, requests, and issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate incidents to the appropriate service provider for resolution.
  • Instructs non-technical users in the operation of the VTC user control panel and all other end user VTC equipment. This includes senior Staff and VIP personnel.
  • Keep government oversight informed of status changes and information pertaining to the VOC, its customers and supported systems.
  • Provides recommendations to management on improved equipment and personnel function and reliability.
TS SCI with Polygraph Clearance required.

Associates degree in a computer field and seven (7) years of related experience. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement.

•Minimum of five (10) years supporting VTC infrastructure to include evaluating, designing, testing, documenting, installing, implementing, performing problem isolation and resolution, monitoring, tuning and maintaining a wide range of Audio/Video (A/V) and VTC components and systems

•Must be Certified AMX programmer

•Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot video wall processors

•Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot direct view LED walls

•Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot RF and Digital video grids

•Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot IPTV systems from headend source content to decoder set top boxes

•Must be able to life 50 lbs.

•Must be comfortable climbing a ladder and working at 25ft or more

•10 years' experience A/V experience or CTS certification

Desired Skills:

• Must possess excellent problem solving skills to troubleshoot complex A/V problems.

• Self-starter with (5) years experience leading a team of operators and A/V Technicians.

• Professional oral and written presentation skills.

• Industry Certifications: CCNA, Polycom, CISCO/Tandberg, Extron AVA certification

• Experience with the following equipment: AMX, Extron, Haivision, VBrick, SiliconCore, Evertz, Polycom, CISCO, SmartBox

• Experience supporting Auditorium A/V components.

• Experience supporting digital signage systems.

Essential Job Functions:

Work Environment

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Physical Requirements

Most work will be done at a desk or computer. Equipment and Machines. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance: Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40 hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
