Candidate will support application development projects for the Buildings and Infrastructure, Asset Management Strategies group. The successful candidate will perform as a Senior Application Developer and will provide application development support to the Strategic Advisory Services Team. Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with managers, domain experts, and clients in the civil engineering, architecture, and construction industry to analyze, define, and document requirements for software systems to be developed.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise in programming and technology to develop cost effective technical solutions to client requirements that require creativity and ingenuity.
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clearly written code.
  • Updating job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Can explain the advantages and disadvantages of using a new technology over an existing one to clients and domain experts, and can train others to use it.
  • Primary knowledge base for standards, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Works with and helps mentor a group of programmers by providing advice, coaching and training opportunities.
  • Can estimate hours for a team to convert requirements or specifications into working computer code.
  • Designs and helps others build screen layouts, graphical user interfaces, reports, and interfaces with other systems to meet client specifications.
  • Designs and helps others code and execute tests to locate errors and to verify that software meets specifications
  • Designs, tests, and implements backup and recovery scenarios, including archiving and import/export
  • Performance tunes database and supporting mission-critical production systems
  • Manages installation and upgrades of database systems
  • Creates database tables, views, stored procedures for one or more database platforms.

  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive experience, or a MS degree in the same disciplines with thirteen (13) years of progressive experience, required
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience, required
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) with experience in developing software solutions using Visual Studio, C#, XAML, WPF, ASP.Net MVC, SQL Server required
  • Experience leading a team using an Agile software development lifecycle methodology (i.e. Scrum, Khanban) required
  • A successful candidate must be able to; Analyze Information; Develop and CM Software Designs, Software Documentation, and Software Test Plans; Foster Teamwork and Coach team members; Demonstrate Advanced Programming Skills and understanding of Software Development Process, Software Requirements, and Software Architecture; and communicate effectively, verbal and written
  • Knowledge of or experience with GIS enterprise systems and the ESRI ArcGIS Runtime SDKs is preferred
  • Knowledge of or experience with the following is preferred: Silverlight, SharePoint CSOM, Object Relational Mapping (ORM), Telerik controls, Xamarin, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, SQLite, and Oracle databases
